The Consular Corps in Finland is very grateful for their hospitality to the City of Oulu and Mr Martti Launonen, Honorary Consul of South Korea, during a visit to this dynamic northern Silicon Valley, centre of science and economy and future Capital of Culture in 2026.

The programme prepared for the guests to get to know Oulu and Northern Ostrobothnia better was simply great.

The City of Oulu invests in consular activities in an exemplary way – for instance, a Consular Hall has been inaugurated in the recently renovated City Hall, offering a possibility for consuls to perform their official tasks at the heart of the city.

In addition to the coats of arms of the City of Oulu and the Republic of Finland, in the Consular Hall there are also coats of arms of all the countries represented by the eighteen consuls of Oulu and Northern Ostrobothnia. The main architect of the renovation of the town hall is Mr Weikko Kotila, Honorary Consul of Greece at Oulu.
