Hadrian is an artist who works in a variety of media: sculpture, photography and film. Hadrian pigott biographyDuring the last five years he has been exploring the devices of Consumerism, looking particularly at the West's obsession with hygiene. The culmination of this body of work is a set of four shiny plastic musical instrument-type cases with velvet interiors made to hold various domestic items (wash basin, iron, floor polisher and vacuum cleaner) associated with personal cleanliness, individual identity and social order. The obsessive, fetishistic nature of these cases suggests that things have gone too far. |
